Ludlow

With nearly 500 listed buildings, Ludlow’s medieval street pattern remains almost intact and its ruined Norman castle overlooks the market square where regular street markets are held, selling a range of goods; from local produce to books, crafts and antiques.

Ludlow has excellent shopping with many antique shops and art galleries and a good choice of fashion and gift shops, not forgetting the many shops selling local speciality foods. The town is also renowned for its fine dining and has more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere outside London as well as numerous bistros, tea-shops and pubs.

The annual Ludlow Festival is held during June/July, in September there is a Food & Drink Fair and in November a Medieval Fair. Ludlow also has a racecourse, with races held during October to May.

The surrounding countryside is outstanding and there are many historical sites and places of interest within easy reach.
